I created this short film during the 2020 COVID lockdown in New Zealand. It was created for an annual event called the "48 Hour Film Festival." Each team has 48 hours to create a short film from scratch - we were assigned genre was horror, and my two nieces stepped up as the fearless (and only) actors.
If you've never tried something like this, I can tell you that planning, shooting, editing, and delivering a film in just two days, with limited resources, is no small feat - it’s a concoction of improvisation, self-neglect, and mental exhaustion.
This was the first time I had entered the festival, and I would soon learn that submitting your film five minutes late means instant disqualification.
All in all, though, it was a fun and memorable experience.
